The M-3100U comes in a sleek new design and sports a deluxe VFD screen to show the operational status. It incorporates a 5-step speed quiet fan for almost inaudible operation, while at the same time maintain the system temperature at acceptable levels.

Installing a hard drive into the M-3100U is very easy: just about the same as installing any 3.5" HDD to your computer. Just connect the data and power cables, and you are ready to rock and roll. One of the advantages of this player is the simultaneous connection to a TV and computer: use an A/V cable to connect the output to a TV, and a USB cable to connect to a computer so that the M-3100U can be used as an external storage device. How cool is that?

Thanks to its DVD format playback capability, you don't have to keep your discs handy all the time. Simply get all your content onto the hard drive and forget about the discs. And the best part is, the M-3100U keeps all the chapters, subtitles, menus and special features included on a DVD disc, giving you complete functionality of DVD navigation.

With support for MP3, Ogg Vorbis and WMA, you have a virtual music server under your command. Include your digital photos and you can view an animation of these photos with your favorite music running in the background. The only problem with the M-3100U is that it supports only IDE hard drives, and not the faster SATA ones.
