Motorola V3c Review

Motorola RAZR V3c Cell PhoneMotorola RAZR smashed records when it was introduced in the now-famous slim form factor. Basking in the success, Motorola brought out the RAZR V3c, in a steel-grey anodized aluminum package that's definitely drool-worthy.

The phone is not too bad either: it's got Bluetooth and a generous display. The camera is great for occasional photos and videos. The design itself has inspired new models from various vendors including Samsung and LG. The disappointing part, of course, is that Bluetooth file transfers are disabled by Verizon.

Pros: Sleek design, great looks, Good camera
Cons: Bluetooth file transfer disabled

Features include:
Exclusive steel grey anodized aluminum shell with a distinctive ultra-thin profile, Innovative nickel-plated copper-alloy chemically-etched keypad with illumination panel, Integrated 1.3-megapixel camera with 8X Zoom and photo album application, Speaker-independent voice recognition with full-duplex speakerphone, Bluetooth Class 1 wireless technology for hands-free connectivity, Messaging via Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), IM Wireless Village and email (POP3, IMAP4, SMTP), 3D graphics engine for gaming.

My Rating: 3.5 Stars out of 5 (I would have given 4 for Bluetooth file transfer capabilities).

Comments:

I am considering purchasing this V3c. I have been told to stay away and think of the Samsun A740 & A860..I have had a samsung a660 for 2 years..it sucks..I need good reception..and a very good phone..and I am tough on phones..the only thing I found is that the suamsung a660 could take a beating...any comments before I dive into the realm of new phones..my contract is up and I need to upgrade...thanks..reply a.s.a.p..:-)

i was wondering if anyone knew how to keep the clock on the front dislplay (external) to stay on! after about 3 seconds it goes away. My old phone always displayed the clock. email me if you know how at steelers_suck_@hotmail.com

the v3c with software version GATW_01.0F.03 does not allow file transfer. I have read the GATW_01.0F.02 does, but apparently it has been disabled in .03

My employer gave me this phone but as a company policy they disable the camera...anyone know how to unlock the camera feature?

This is a great phone. I'm using it in Canada with bell, with unlimited internet. I've used a Sony Ericson T616 for the past 2 years and liked it, but after using this phone for a week, there was no going back. It does take a bit getting used to if you are a first time Motorola user, but definitely worth it.

Verizon actually doesnt disable bluetooth file transfer. You can get and send files without any obstruction.

I have the V3c from Verizon and I must tell you that your review is not correct.

The V3c DOES allow file transfer via Bluetooth AND USB.

It sounds as though your review was written based on the printed marketing collateral from Verizon. But having actually performed file transfers to and from the device I can confirm that the functionlity is there.

Best Regards
Shaun
