Marantz VP-11S1 Projector

Marantz America unveiled its new projector which is capable of achieving full uncompressed HDTV 1920x1080 pixel resolution and full upconversion capability for all video sources to 1080p HD resolution. The VP-11S1 is a new single chip DLP projector which performs like a professional without burning a hole in the user’s pocket. Housed in the die-cast aluminum chassis of Marantz’ acclaimed VP-12 series, the projector also includes sealed 13 element all-glass optics from Konica-Minolta. The company has also thrown in customized color filters to complement the 200 Watt DC SuperHighPressure lamp assembly.
Consumers are assured of breath-taking results which are further enhanced via the color wheel spinning at 10,800 RPM and sport a Quiet Fluid Dynamic Bearing motor for silent operation. The projector includes the critically acclaimed Texas Instruments' first true 1080p HD chip which has a pixel count of a whopping 2 million pixels. For better functionality, the chip is controlled by two drivers, Texas Instruments’ DDP3021 which lets the projector achieve 68-plus billion colors.
The VP-11S1 is compatible with a host of sources like dual HDMI inputs, HD component video, S-video, composite video and analog RGB connections. Installation is pretty easy and the projector includes remote in/out connections, RS-232C serial control ports and two DC trigger connections that can achieve two independent operations. The onboard Vertical Stretch mode eliminates the black borders on widescreen movies and has two lens options, two color options, and a mechanical lens shift. The VP-11S1 is now shipping for $19,999.
