AT&T Launches Box with Web, Satellite

homezone.jpg

Here comes the new satellite TV set-top box that is launched by AT&T today. The new AT&T Homezone will come together with AT&T-Dish Network satellite TV service and its freaking cheap. It cost only USD9.90 a month in addition to Internet and satellite service fee. How does it actually work? Homezone connects to a television set and a separate Internet gateway with a modem to access the Internet. The best part is it works like a digital video recorder; it downloads all your satellite TV to your hard disk via web site. If you want to download extra movie, it doesn't have any extra bandwidth for you unless you pull out USD4.99 for a new releases movie. After all the download finished, the box can then show photos and play music from your home computer that is connected to the Internet gateway. Too bad this service is only available to customer in Ohio and San Antonio. AT&T said that it plans to introduce a high-definition box in the near future.
