AppleInsider tips everyone that the new Mac Pro Desktop will only be a slight modification from Power Mac G5 casing. Rumors said that there will only be a couple of cosmetic differences between the Mac Pro and G5 casings, especially the addition of a second optical drive slot on the face of the Mac Pro. Is that for the Blu-ray or HD-DVD of the user's choice? It will be available in three different model with choice of Dual-Core 2GHz Intel Xeon, Dual-Core 2.33GHz Intel Xeon and Two dual-core 2.66GHz Intel Xeon. Having two dual-core Xeon processors on your desktop computer are crazy enough; i would want that for my gaming experience. All the three processors have 4MB shared L2 cache with 1.333GHz system bus. The new Mac Pro desktop also boasts a choices of 1GB or 512MB DDR2 667MHz RAM, ATI Radeon x1600 Pro with 256MB of DDR2 or GDDR3 video memory, 250GB or 320GB SATA 7200RPM HDD and a 16x SuperDrive with double-layer support. In addition, it has one FireWire 800 port, two FireWire 400 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 1.1 ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, integrated wireless antenna, optional AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. The prices will range from USD1,799 to USD3,299 depending on the specifications.
